    Solved my problem

We recently changed to high speed internet service in our town. Then we had trouble with our tv not keeping synced with the wifi. We tried several things and were so frustrated. We ordered this stick to replace a cheaper version and it solved the problem right away. Amazon gave us the option to pre set this to our existing account. It was so simple to get going. Thank you so much!

It is NOT 8gb of storage.

The main reason I wanted to upgrade to this model is that on my old Firestick I was always getting a low storage warning. It had 5gb of storage. This one is listed as 8 gb of storage so I thought “perfect, I won’t get that warning anymore!” I was wrong. I’m already getting that same warning and sometimes it won’t let me update apps saying I don’t have enough space. When you look at the “my Firestick” specs on the device it says it has the same 5gb as my previous model. I’m very disappointed in that misinformation. Otherwise the Firestick is great but I’m taking off one star because it was promoted incorrectly. I got it cheap enough on prime day I’ll just keep it for the better remote and processor but be warned about the storage!

Nice upgrade from my second gen but memory already full

The memory magically filled up just from system updates. I don’t have THAT many channels installed : Hulu Disney+ espn+ max Plex hdhomerun Netflix peacock tbs tnt mlb fox sports and maybe it has crackle and freevee installed? That has it next to full after initially being several gigs free when I first installed it.So it’s probably the best thing you can get right now for the functionality and I like the new remote doing volume and turning my projector on. But the remote doesn’t seem smart enough to turn my projector or stereo off. A great upgrade but it leaves some things to be desired.

    A good investment

Got a few when they were on sale and take the stress of off my TV’s components which would cost an arm and a leg to replace. Yes, I’ve replaced a Sony Android TV’s motherboard that I used without any external dongles like this Fire stick and was out of warranty and it cost me a few hundred bucks. Thing is, most of the processing power will be handled by the stick instead of the tv that only needs to be powered on.

    Much improved

Much better than my old Firestick. The biggest problem is not enough internal memory / storage. When you are loaded up with apps, as I am because I am getting ready to “cut the cable”, you have to constantly clear the cache. Adding external storage / memory is difficult and following advice from You Tube helps, a little. Even then you can can not put all your apps on the external storage device. I have spent hours on the phone before I got though to the Amazon team that really handles the Firestick 4.5k and I was told that they were working on the issue and a operating system update should be forthcoming. We will see. I’m moving from Xfinity cable and Internet to I Q Fiber and can’t wait until they have me hooked up.
