The thermometer works just like it was advertised to. When it arrived, we immediately decided to do a calibration test between this thermometer, our small digital under the tongue thermometer, and of course our old fashion mercury one. We were really surprised at how each one worked because there was only 1.5-degree variance between all three. We are happy with this thermometer so far. It also came with a small QA certificate showing the date of manufacturing. I have seen some comments in the reviews about outdated products. There may have been some, I’m just saying that ours was no where near expired. This thermometer also takes room and surface temperatures that is really kind of nice. We have used it a few times in those modes as well. From the product that we received I would recommend this product to any one. You can always get a bad one. Just like buying a car,, you could get a bad one in any model.

I’m a home health OT, I need to take vitals every visit. This just works faster, has a bigger screen with a brighter, easier to read readout than the tiny temporal thermometer I was given to use by my company. I’m honestly not sure of the accuracy of either of the thermometers, but this is definitely in the ballpark. The little temporal thermometer seemed to only read 96.7. This thermometer actually seem to read different temperatures for each patient.
